Vegetarian for Life announces awards winners

Charity Vegetarian for Life has revealed the winners of its 2020 Awards for Excellence in Vegetarian and Vegan Care Catering in a virtual ceremony.

The event, which is in its fifth year, was broadcast via Facebook and YouTube and was hosted by comedian, actor, writer and film producer Dave Spikey.

The winners are:

Veggie Care Chef of the Year
Grant Burton, head chef at The Hawthorns in Braintree

Most Innovative Veggie Dish
Pan seared watermelon by Gary McGurk, Primrose Bank Care Home in Poulton le Fylde

Veggie Wholesaler of the Year
Bidfood

The Beulah Charity Trust Special Recognition Award
Steve Dale of The Moreton Centre in East Sussex
